Match formats and points
Describe a match night: sets, singles, doubles, and how league points are counted.
Pool leagues rarely use a single universal scoring system. Pool League Pro lets you define a match format once and reuse it on every fixture in a competition.
Points engine
- Points per frame won
- Bonus (or base) points for a home win, away win, and draw
- Maximum times a player may appear in the same set (stops the same name filling every frame if you need that rule)
Set and frame structure
A format is a list of sets. Each set contains frames that are singles or doubles. Example: Set 1 — five singles; Set 2 — two doubles. Captains then pick names into those slots on the scorecard.
Build formats under Admin → Match Formats. Give each format a clear name (“Monday 8-ball: 5 + 2”) so the wizard and fixture screens stay readable.
Why this matters
Standings, player win percentages, and live scores all read the same structure. If your winter and summer leagues use different nights, create two formats rather than overloading one.
